Perpetual Motion Series

For the past month, I've been working on my newest series, Perpetual Motion, and until tonight, I haven't shown it to anyone outside my family. In this series I use a technique I've never seen before, which I am calling "Numbersim". Each drawing in the series is entirely drawn using only the numbers 1 -12, marking the hours of the clock. There are no lines or smudging involved: all lines and gradients are created with these numbers.

The theme of this series is time, and the importance of the present.

Tonight, I showed 5 pieces from this new series in the yard at Red Dog. The feedback I received was great. People were interested in the technique, the drawings themselves, and even the artist statement. A few people have asked me for copies of the artist statement, and so I've put it up online. Anyone who'd like to see the statement, Click Here

I've been excited about this series regardless, but it was great to bounce this off of the general public. It's reinforced my feeling that I'm on the right track here.

I will be shopping these around to galleries, and I plan to run this series for a year.
